August 25, 2001 While outside spackling and sanding continued, repair of the cupola began. The cupola was in fairly bad shape, so significant portions were removed, used as templates to cut new pieces, and then the new pieces were reinstalled. Note the rather large holes created while the pieces were missing. Note that the cupola was not primed two weekends ago as it still is the original yellow color. It, too, will be primed and repainted once repairs are complete. |
